Your donations successfully funded the purchase of a brand-new incubator, which will bring a truly transformative, hands-on science lesson right into our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are so excited to launch this project this spring. Your gift allows our students to witness the miracle of life firsthand as we embark on our chicken life cycle study. This isn't just about watching eggs; it's about deep, engaged learning. We will be studying the crucial parts of the egg and preparing for the big day when we can transfer them to the incubator.\r\n\r\nThe process itself is a complete lesson in science and patience. We will carefully learn that it takes 21 days for the eggs to hatch, and that they must be maintained at a precise temperature of 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit to develop properly. The children will also participate in candling the eggs, using a light to observe the growth and development inside the shell—a truly awe-inspiring moment!\r\n\r\nBeyond the biology, this project offers profound lessons in responsibility and empathy. The students will learn what it takes to care for a fragile life, understanding the commitment required to keep the temperature and humidity stable in the incubator and, eventually, to look after the newly hatched chicks. This experience will solidify their understanding of the natural world and their role in protecting it.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this engaging and memorable educational opportunity possible. The students love it! \r\nWhen I set my classroom up this year for fall it was a nice touch to have a better variety of fall books upfront for the students! As a 2nd year teacher in first grade thank you! This is encouraging my class to want to read books. They get exited each week for the new books!
