Being that this is my first year teaching first grade I have learned so much from my students and one of the most important is how effective a morning meeting is. By having an easel that I can write a morning message everyday on will enhance the social development and vocabulary of my students. The easel also allows for storage of books I plan to share with my students during our meeting time, which usually emphasizes character development. Morning meeting is a great way to meld social, emotional, and academic learning and start the day on a positive note. Meeting time is a great way to allow student voice and relationship building within the class.
