I believe the best way for students to learn about science is by using their hands and occasionally getting dirty. Our school has a gardening program in which students grow a variety of plants that they later sell to help raise money for our school. Unfortunately for us, the majority of our school year consists of cold temperatures and little sunlight. Having a growing station in the classroom will give students the opportunity to grow a variety of different plants and enjoy a hands on learning experience even during the cold winter months. Additionally, these grow lights will provide students with multiple learning opportunities for various topics including: life science, water, erosion, supply and demand, measurement, food groups, the relationships between plants, animals, and humans, and so much more!
