I would like to purchase updated gym mats and sensory tools for the sensory and motor gym at our school. The gym mats we currently have, which provide for student safety, are worn out, torn in several places and held together with tape, making them difficult to clean. I am also hoping to purchase some wobble stools and balance boards to provide students an opportunity to practice with alternate seating arrangements to support self -regulation and attention in the classroom setting. Movement is such an important part of development! Students come to the gym to learn new motor skills, practice safe ways to get their wiggles out, and learn new strategies for self regulation. Students need a clean, safe and inviting place to experience being successful with emerging skills. Students will be able to learn about their bodies and how they learn best. Learning about themselves will give them tools they can use throughout their school careers. It is so rewarding to see a child become more independent and successful at school because they have learned how to implement the skills and tools they need!
