The addition of the PlayStation 5 will make a meaningful impact in both our Esports program and our Game Design class. While many people use this kind of technology at home for entertainment, having it available in a school setting opens the door for learning opportunities that go far beyond gaming. Students are now able to analyze game mechanics, study professional-level design choices, and explore the technical side of modern consoles. This hands-on access helps them make real connections between classroom concepts and the actual products they dream of creating.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is the chance to engage with industry-standard hardware. For our Esports club, the PS5 can be the centerpiece for team practice, allowing students to build communication, strategy, and collaboration skills in a structured environment.\r\n\r\nA few students, in particular, have especially connected with this new technology. Some of our more reluctant learners—students who normally struggle to stay engaged—have completely come alive with this addition. One student who rarely participated in class is now deeply involved in analyzing game features and offering insightful critiques during design discussions. Another student, who hopes to become a competitive gamer, has found a sense of belonging and confidence through our Esports practices. The PS5 has not only enhanced learning; it has helped these students discover new strengths and passions.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. Instead of just reading about ecosystems, water quality, and organism interactions, students are actively maintaining them, testing water parameters, observing behavior, and applying what they learn in real time. One of our first projects with the new supplies was a full water-quality investigation where students measured temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and nutrient levels, then made data-driven decisions to improve the health of our tanks. Watching them confidently problem-solve using real data has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nStudents are now routinely maintaining their filtration systems by removing old carbon filter cartridges and replacing them with fresh ones, learning firsthand how activated carbon removes toxins and keeps the water safe for living organisms. We use the aquarium test strips weekly to monitor water quality, and my students truly appreciate having reliable tools to track real environmental data—thank you so much for making those possible. They are also using the root tab plant fertilizer to support healthy plant growth in their tanks, which has helped them understand the role of nutrients in ecosystem stability. Your generosity has turned our aquariums into thriving learning systems and given my students an authentic, ongoing scientific experience they will never forget. This upgrade immediately became an extension of our lessons on the water cycle and nitrogen cycle, allowing students to see these processes in action rather than just reading about them in a textbook.\r\n\r\nStudents now actively use the aquarium as a working model for studying water quality. They test pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, track data over time, and connect their results to key environmental science concepts.
