New Sullivan Elementary. In our program, students explore a wide range of digital art forms, however 3D printing is a class favorite which students frequently return to. With our new addition, students are able to not only learn the principles of three-dimensional design on computers, they are able to produce extraordinarily high quality physical prints of their renderings, inventions, and imaginations. \r\nIn the past, we have struggled with 3D printers which require constant maintenance in order to produce less-than-ideal results at a very slow pace. Our new Bambu printer allows students to rapidly prototype high quality ideas, revise them, and achieve their ideal goals. Students' creativity has exploded! For the first time, our students can form ideas, design them, and see them printed within a single class period! \r\nOne of our students, Jayceon, is especially inclined towards building and fixing machines. Jayceon was the leader when it came to assembling the printer. He was the first to learn how to maintain it and has since showed other students how to do tasks such as changing filament colors and preparing prints. It is exciting to see our students using this wonderful new tool in our class in order to share knowledge and expand their creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1754008737128,"projectUrl":"project/crafting-shapes-building-futures/9484745/","projectTitle":"Crafting Shapes, Building Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pineda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp240099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1625783212322","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-leticiapineda"},{"teacherId":240099,"projectId":9306496,"letterContent":"Here's a warm and genuine **impact letter** you can send to your **DonorsChoose** contributors — written from a teacher's perspective and tailored to your project items (word mapping tools, letter blocks, and dry-erase erasers):\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n**Dear Generous Donors,**\r\n\r\nI am filled with gratitude as I share the wonderful impact your generosity has had on our classroom! Thanks to your support, our students now have hands-on tools that make learning to read and write an exciting adventure every day.\r\n\r\nThe **word mapping tools** have become a favorite during our small-group reading time. Students use them to break words into sounds, build phonemic awareness, and see how letters and sounds connect. What used to be a challenge for many of them now feels like solving a fun puzzle!\r\n\r\nOur new **letter blocks** have brought movement and play into literacy learning. Students eagerly grab them to build new words, explore spelling patterns, and even compete to see who can create the longest real word. These manipulatives help turn abstract phonics concepts into something they can see, touch, and understand.\r\n\r\nEven the **dry-erase erasers** have made a big difference! Now that each student has their own, we spend less time searching and more time practicing writing skills and sentence building on our boards. The classroom hums with focus and excitement as students write, erase, and try again.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are developing stronger literacy foundations — and most importantly, confidence in themselves as readers and writers. You've given them tools that make learning tangible, joyful, and within reach.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for investing in our students' futures. The first time they put them on, I watched their shoulders relax and their faces light up as the background noise faded away. Suddenly, the gym, once an overwhelming space filled with echoes and whistles, became a place where they could focus on the game and feel safe joining in. One student who often sat on the sidelines asked if he could be the first to try a relay race, something he had never felt comfortable doing before.\r\n\r\nWe are already making great use of these headphones. During group activities, my students can follow directions more easily and stay engaged without the distraction of loud, unpredictable sounds. For example, during a bowling skills lesson, several students who normally covered their ears were able to participate alongside their classmates with smiles on their faces. The headphones have become a bridge to inclusion, helping them feel like valued members of the team.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to build on this confidence by incorporating more cooperative games and team-building activities, knowing that our students now have the sensory support they need to succeed. I like to tell them that a messy room creates a messy brain. \r\nWhen they walk in, they have multiple bags. One bag for their colored pencils, one bag for their glue, crayon container, scissors, and one final one for their dry erase board, marker and eraser. I like to make sure all the supplies have a special place. It has been a great thing to see them keep their supplies neat. It also cuts down on supplies getting lost or confused with other students. \r\nI don't expect them to do this without guidance or an example to follow. My teacher materials are just as organized. I save game pieces and unit materials in Sterilite bins and bags. Everything is labeled nicely for future use.
