Our young Artists were able to create beautiful Alebrijes on metal foiling inspired by Hojalta Tin Art! The fifth graders were able to utilize the embossing tools to make detailed lines and intricate work within their Alebrijes and backgrounds. After embossing, students used the wide array of color sharpies to make their artwork vibrant and pop! Thank you so much for helping add color and essential supplies to our artwork as we learned about Alebrijes and Hojalta Tin Art from Mexico. \r\nWhen I showed students clips of real artists creating Hojalata Tin Art they were amazed and inspired. The animation for our learning continued after sharing Alebrije sculptures. My student's mouths about dropped on the floor when I explained that we would be making our own Alebrijes and combining them with Hojalata art on real metal foil! Watching my students be excited to create with materials that they've never seen or used before was a precious gift. Students were sharing tips and tricks with one another. They were engaged in their learning and had excitement with completing their work. As students used the embossing tools, I showed them techniques that would change how the foil was raised and marks that they could make to create more visual interest within their work. When students applied these techniques and skills to their work, they were in awe that their 2D art could become 3D! \r\nMy fifth-grade artists had such pride in what they created for this combined Hispanic Heritage project! They continually asked me when they could take them home! This was a true sign that this project became a true favorite. I'm so eager to share some of the finished project photos with you and the families of these artists! I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do. \r\nThank you for your contribution to making this project come to life! The new headphones with microphones have truly transformed how my students approach learning and self-expression. Many of our students have a huge capacity for ideas but often struggle with the mechanics of writing. Now, with the microphones, they are empowered to use voice typing, allowing them to access complex concepts and web pages that were previously beyond their independent reading level. This technology has helped my students focus on high-level comprehension and detailed content creation instead of getting bogged down by keyboarding or decoding.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is the combination of sound quality and the ability to create truly detailed writing projects. The noise isolation allows them to work independently and concentrate better, while the clear microphone lets their voices and ideas come through with precision. One student, who is usually hesitant to participate in whole-group writing, has completely warmed up to this technology; they are now creating the most elaborate stories I've ever seen, all because they can speak their thoughts directly onto the page. Your gift has not just given them a tool—it has given them a powerful voice and the ability to confidently share their brilliant ideas with the world.","fullyFundedDate":1760632973639,"projectUrl":"project/finding-our-voices-headphones-with-micr/9714969/","projectTitle":"Finding Our Voices: Headphones With Microphones for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Czarnecki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10034643_orig.png?crop=366,366,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757014226569","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-czarsclass"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36933","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":633,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":73.9,"schoolId":36933,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sullivan Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sullivan Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/green-bay-area-public-school-district/sullivan-elementary-school/36933"}
