These seating options will allow students to choose what is most comfortable for them and allows them to focus to the best of their ability. Currently, students fidget, have trouble staying in their seats, try sitting on the backs of chairs, and tipping their chairs in an effort to be comfortable and stay focused. Some of these alternatives are unsafe and distracting for the rest of the class. With these new seating choices, students will no longer have to make one-size-fits-all seating work for them. They will be able to choose a safe alternative seating arrangement that is effective and what their bodies need at that time. Items chosen allow for standing, wobbling, and bouncing - something for everyone! These kiddos deserve the absolute best chance they can get for successful learning, and I firmly believe that flexible seating is a big step in the right direction.
