For example, colored paper is used for handouts, which should be stored in their blue folder (and now every student has a blue folder!). Yellow-lined paper is for writing a draft, and white-lined paper is for the final product. As a teacher of students who speak many languages that are not English, the ability to organize materials in their native language is priceless! Back in September our district was a victim to a cyber attack which has left us without student laptops to aid in tranlastion. I had received my materials prior to this and had already begun translating and printing physical copies of my lessons in each language. I was also able to start storing and labeling supplies in the clear bins which made it a lot easier for students to find the correct supplies for the day.\r\nWhile my handwriting is legible, because of the way I write certain letters it is sometimes confusing to students what the previous labels said. With the label maker, the students were so excited to see things written clearly and in their own language! This is helping to build their confidence as well as having them see the English words along side their native language to help them learn English in the art room. They are also teaching me how to properly pronouce supplies in their language as well!\r\nThis will give me the ability to continue creating lessons for all of my learners for years to come. While the original number said 150 students, the impact will help thousands of students over the remainder of my teaching career.
