With the new resources you helped provide, like our colorful mesh zipper pouches, holiday decorations, word games, and festive supplies, my students have been more organized, engaged, and motivated than ever. The zipper pouches have made it so much easier for students to keep their materials in order. At the same time, the themed decorations and candy treats have brought a sense of celebration and joy to our learning environment.\r\n\r\nOne particularly memorable moment was during our phonics and reading activities using the Kasfalci magnetic word games. When I first introduced the CVC, CVCC, and Magic E games, the students' eyes lit up as they matched letters and built words. They were so proud to see their progress right on the classroom fridge magnets! We even combined some of the holiday decorations and Valentine supplies to create a fun, themed literacy activity that made learning both hands-on and festive. The students loved working together, sharing their answers, and celebrating each small victory with cheers and smiles.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to build on these successes by integrating the word games and classroom decorations into larger reading and writing projects. Students will create their own holiday-themed stories and practice spelling through interactive games. The math games are a hit during centers, helping students practice subtraction and division in a fun, hands-on way. The alphabet mats have been perfect for younger learners to practice letters while building confidence in reading. The dry-erase board wipes keep our lessons smooth and organized, and the flashlight sparked a lively discussion during our safety and preparedness lesson. Even the snacks became a fun little celebration for students who reached their learning goals.\r\n\r\nYour gift has truly made a difference. The colorful paper has been perfect for our writing projects; my students have been publishing their final drafts on the neon sheets and proudly displaying them around the room. The new folders have helped us stay organized, with each color representing a subject area. The laminating sheets have been a game-changer; we've created durable anchor charts, reusable word work mats, and learning games that will last us all year. During math centers, the copy money props have added excitement as students practice counting and making change in fun, hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nThese resources have truly transformed our classroom. You've done so much more than provide fidgets and kick bands—you've given my students tools to help them succeed, emotionally and academically.\r\n\r\nEvery classroom has a mix of learners: the quiet thinkers, the hands-on explorers, the wigglers, and the dreamers. My students are no different. Before this project, many of them struggled to stay engaged for long periods. They'd rock in their chairs, tap pencils, or move constantly just trying to focus. It wasn't because they didn't care—it was because their little bodies simply needed movement to stay connected to their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the fidgets and kick bands arrived, it was like watching a light switch flip on. Students who used to fidget out of frustration now channel that energy productively. The first morning we introduced the new tools, I explained that these were not toys, but \"focus helpers.\" The excitement was contagious. Every student wanted to try one, and soon we had calm, quiet energy in the room. Instead of bouncing around, my students were bouncing ideas.\r\n\r\nFor my students with attention difficulties or sensory needs, these items have been life-changing. One student who used to constantly ask to leave their seat now stays focused for entire lessons, gently stretching the kick band under their desk while participating in class discussions. Another student who often chewed on pencils now uses a sensory fidget ring instead, reducing anxiety and keeping their hands busy while reading aloud. The difference in classroom atmosphere is remarkable—less distraction, more engagement, and far more smiles.\r\n\r\nEven better, students have developed a stronger sense of self-awareness. They now recognize when they need a movement break or when a fidget helps them refocus. We've had wonderful conversations about mindfulness and self-control, topics that many adults are still learning to master! It's beautiful to see young children gaining these lifelong skills through something as simple as a kick band or fidget cube.\r\n\r\nThe parents have noticed the change too. Several have shared that their children come home calmer and more eager to talk about their day. One parent told me, \"My child said school is easier now because they can think better.\" That statement alone made every effort worthwhile. Your donation directly touched lives—not in an abstract way, but in tangible, everyday moments that matter deeply.\r\n\r\nYou've helped transform our classroom into a place that honors every learner's needs. Students are no longer told to \"sit still\" but are instead encouraged to \"stay focused in the way that works for you.\" That message of inclusion, understanding, and grace is priceless.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that movement and learning can coexist. Thank you for helping my students find comfort, focus, and joy in their education. Every day, when I see them quietly stretching their legs or turning a fidget in their hands while listening attentively, I'm reminded of your kindness. You've made learning accessible, inclusive, and fun for every child in my classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity will continue to ripple far beyond this year. Future classes will also benefit from these tools, each student discovering their own way to stay engaged and successful. From my heart—and from the hearts of 20 wiggly, wonderful 2nd graders—thank you for helping us fidget our way through the day with purpose, peace, and pride.","fullyFundedDate":1753770537924,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-it-started/9485248/","projectTitle":"Let's Get It Started","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Randle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9194727_orig.jpg?crop=630,630,x184,y189&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714586282816","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msl-renarandle"},{"teacherId":9194727,"projectId":9276462,"letterContent":"Your generous donation of cleaning supplies has made such a meaningful difference in our second-grade classroom. Before your support, I often worried about how to keep our shared spaces clean and healthy with limited resources. Like many schools, our supplies would run out long before the school year ended. Thanks to your kindness, our students now have access to everything we need to maintain a clean, welcoming environment that reflects pride and respect for learning.\r\n\r\nHaving the right cleaning materials has transformed the way my students view our classroom. We now have disinfecting wipes, paper towels, sprays, and gloves to keep our tables and learning stations tidy after projects, snacks, and art activities. The students have even created a \"Clean Team\" rotation — they take turns ensuring the classroom is spotless before dismissal. This small change has strengthened their sense of ownership and responsibility.\r\n\r\nHealth-wise, your gift has been a tremendous blessing. With cold and flu season always lurking, we've seen a noticeable decrease in student absences. The children are learning that taking care of their environment helps take care of one another. They're practicing good hygiene habits and understanding the importance of a clean workspace.\r\n\r\nEmotionally, it's also created peace of mind — both for me as a teacher and for the families I serve. Parents appreciate knowing their children are learning in a clean, safe place. And when students walk into a fresh, organized classroom each morning, they're more focused and calm.\r\n\r\nYour donation went beyond cleaning supplies — it built a foundation of care, respect, and community pride. Your gift may seem simple, but to my students, it is a daily reminder that someone cares about them. Many of my students arrive at school without breakfast or lunch, often due to circumstances beyond their control. When they know there are snacks waiting for them, it changes their entire day. It turns morning frowns into smiles, sleepy eyes into excitement, and distracted minds into focused learners.\r\n\r\nThe difference is easy to see. When students have healthy snacks throughout the day, their energy and participation increase noticeably. Lessons flow more smoothly, reading groups stay more engaged, and our afternoon learning time becomes productive instead of sluggish. For a child who may not have eaten since the previous evening, even a small snack can mean the difference between feeling hopeless and feeling ready to try again.\r\n\r\nYour support helps me meet a need that goes beyond academics — it touches the heart of each child. In our classroom, we talk about community, kindness, and looking out for one another. Thanks to your donation, I'm able to model what that means. My students now understand that generosity doesn't have to be grand to be meaningful; even a snack shared at the right time can make someone's whole day better.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your gift is both immediate and lasting. I see students who were once withdrawn now feeling comfortable asking for help or joining group activities because they feel secure. You have helped create that sense of safety. It's not just about food — it's about belonging.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom family. Your act of kindness has filled stomachs, lifted spirits, and inspired hope. I wish you could have seen their faces light up as they discovered stories about friendship, adventure, animals, and heroes who looked like them. That moment reminded me why I became a teacher — to spark joy, confidence, and curiosity in young learners.\r\n\r\nSince your donation, reading time has become the most anticipated part of our day.
