We were overjoyed and excited when access to Vocabularya-z.com started! We knew that the interactive spelling website would change the dynamic of our classroom and our learning. The access to Vocabularya-z.com that you donated to our class is used daily to assist students in not only spelling and vocabulary practice but reading comprehension, phonic awareness, listening comprehension, and writing skills. This will allow all students to reach their maximum potential. For the students that are having difficulty spelling, reading, and understanding vocabulary this will allow them to listen to the words, practice, and have essential skills come to life. They will be able to practice spelling, vocabulary comprehension, and phonological awareness on several computer-based activities. They will be able to hear the words, sounds, and blends in words. They will also be able to have new vocabulary words read to them as they complete several activities.\r\n\r\nThe students that are advanced can use these online resources to promote higher-order thinking skills and complete enrichment activities. Listening to higher-order vocabulary words and hearing the correct pronunciation will enhance student progress.\r\n\r\nAll my students were excited about the new Vocabularya-z.com website activities. I can assign or students can choose games/ activities to play to practice their words. I can also use Vocabularya-z to differentiate spelling lists depending upon the needs of the students. Other subjects like Science, Geography and Math words can be included because they are offered with the program. So not only are they learning everyday words but learning across content as well. My students were excited about this and their reading and comprehension skills are improving.
