Through stories, my students will see characters who feel nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure. Together, we'll learn coping strategies, practice calming techniques, and remind each other that it's okay to have big feelings. My hope is that these books will help my students feel seen, validated, and less alone.\r\n\r\nThe threading boards will support another very real need I see in my classroom, the need to move, to fidget, and to create. Some of my students focus best when their hands are busy. These boards will give them a productive, calming outlet that builds fine motor skills while also helping them regulate their bodies. Instead of feeling frustrated about sitting still, they'll have a tool that supports both their focus and their creativity.\r\n\r\nMore than anything, this project is about creating a school where emotional wellness is just as important as academics.
