As they used these materials, they built fine-motor and communication skills and took pride in what they made. The rolling storage cart also made it easy to keep everything organized and accessible, so we could use the activities with different groups and in many lessons.\r\n\r\nThe sensory and classroom rewards, like slime, squishy stress balls, light-up rings, and animal erasers, helped make our classroom a positive and encouraging place to learn. These rewards let students celebrate their effort, participation, and growth. For my fourth and fifth graders, having fun incentives kept them engaged and motivated them to keep trying, even when things got tough.\r\n\r\nOverall, these purchases helped us build a student-centered classroom where my fifth graders could explore, create, work together, solve problems, and celebrate their progress. Students used the calming tools to practice deep breathing and identify their emotions before role-playing how to respond to a frustrating situation with a peer. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately gravitated toward the calming tools and flexible seating, commenting on how \"peaceful\" and \"comfortable\" the space felt.
