As there will be many challenges this year for our students attempting to adjust to the demands and changes accompanying virtual learning, we will be providing random rewards for students as they accomplish work, attain good or improved attendance, and generally show positive work habits. Students who receive these rewards will be able to learn new skills through using the STEAM-based rewards, enhancing knowledge, and increasing curiosity, which will hopefully lead to increased desire for more STEAM activities. Incentives have shown an increase in student interest, assignment completion, and goal accomplishment. While learning from home, these items will allow for new, creative, learning in addition to the strenuous curriculum. They will provide a positive reinforcement for students. They provide for family/student interaction which is separate from the daily virtual learning, fun, and educational at the same time.
