Students work multiple weeks on projects with these items we would not otherwise have been able to introduce to students. \r\n\r\nThe Black Light Art Show is a favorite for my students. This year we did 80's and 90's themed projects. Students made disco balls, skateboards, game controllers, boom boxes, and skates to name some. They got to splatter paint, use neon pastels, and other special UV reactive materials. Parents were also invited to join into the fun during our Art Show. They played with spirographs and used neon materials as a family in the black light lab. \r\n\r\nStudents now in Grades 3-5 are learning introductory skills needed for sewing. At the end of the project, students will have created their own stuffy. It is heart warming to hear them say they have them on the wall at home. We have also seen students have them as bookmarks, or displayed on their desks.
