One of my favorite additions has been the flashlights that my students use for our special Friday flashlight reading time. This has quickly become something they look forward to each week, and it has made reading feel exciting and special. The large paper has also allowed me to create colorful, student-friendly anchor charts that we can use throughout our lessons. Having these visual resources displayed around the room helps make learning more accessible and gives students something meaningful to refer back to when they need a little extra support.\r\n\r\nThe origami paper has given my students another creative outlet and has been a fun way to incorporate hands-on activities into our classroom. The plants have made our classroom feel more welcoming, peaceful, and calming, creating a space where students can feel comfortable and ready to learn. Finally, the colorful stools for my teacher table have added a fun pop of color while making our small-group learning space more inviting. Each of these items may seem simple on its own, but together they have helped create a classroom that is engaging, colorful, comfortable, and full of opportunities for students to learn and grow. When my students first saw the new puzzles and realized they would have a special space to work on them, they were so excited. They immediately wanted to choose a puzzle, work together, and see how quickly they could complete it!\r\n\r\nThe puzzle table has quickly become a favorite spot for early finishers. Instead of simply waiting for the next activity or turning to a screen, students can use that extra time to work on a puzzle. I have loved watching them problem-solve together, encourage one another, and celebrate when they finally find that tricky piece. It has also been a huge hit during indoor recess, providing a fun, screen-free way for students to relax and connect with their classmates.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, we will keep rotating puzzles so students have new challenges to look forward to. My hope is that this space continues to encourage perseverance, cooperation, and problem-solving while also giving my students a place to slow down, connect, and simply enjoy being together. Excitement or absolute distain. Using my \"book in a day\" reading method divides up the amount of content each student must consume, and makes them feel like an expert on the chapter or chapters that they did get assigned. This allows them to be the one to convey all the messaging within that particular section and make them feel empowered as an expert, unable to teach their peers when it comes time to share their content. \r\n\r\nI've had great success with creating a joy of reading with this format, and I hope that Redbud students will feel it all the same!","fullyFundedDate":1778083991854,"projectUrl":"project/reading-for-leading/10266319/","projectTitle":"Reading for Leading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4589330_orig.jpg?crop=787,787,x278,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1625184038957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/marticook"},{"teacherId":9171722,"projectId":7645456,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom.
