They immediately began talking about which ones they wanted to read first, and several of them were already making plans for their Book Club groups.\r\nIn our classroom, books are something we experience together. Students read in small groups during Book Club, where they talk about characters, compare ideas, and learn how to listen and respond to one another. Some of my favorite moments as a teacher are when I hear them whispering about a plot twist or predicting what a character will do next. These books give them a chance to feel like real readers who have important ideas worth sharing.\r\nWe also do a Book Report in a Bag project, which has become a big hit. Students choose small items that represent different parts of the story, such as the conflict, the theme, or a moment that changed the character. It is amazing to watch them proudly pull out each item and explain why it matters to the book. They are thoughtful and creative, and these new books give them even more opportunities to connect deeply with what they read.\r\nYour kindness truly made a difference. They are enjoying the different parts that are involved in the launch of a space craft.\r\n My students were so surprised and happy with the new supplies. As a result, many have been using their time more wisely during passing periods so they can maximize their learning time during class.\r\n\r\nIn a few weeks, we will be hosting student-led conferences with parents. I used them to put over the large screws in my desk seats.
