The futon and wobbly seat cushion I am requesting will bring a comforting and relaxed feeling to our classroom. Flexible seating can make a huge difference on a students' ability to focus, especially as the day progresses. Many students complain of needing a sensory break away from their desk to regroup and eliminate any negative behaviors they are feeling. This futon will enable me to provide a designated safe space for them to self-regulate and relax when needed. The wobbly seat cushion will provide extra support for a student that is struggling to remain in their assigned seat during instructional time. It will reduce fidgeting and increase student focus to stay on task.
