The books helped with our informational reading unit by allowing students to use beautiful mentor texts. Students are more engaged when the book is here in the room and not on the screen. My students love reading chapter books and nonfiction books that are right here in the room and not always from a workbook. The books helped every student to be engaged in the learning. The books help get students excited about reading. Students enjoy having a variety of books to select from in the classroom. With your support, I have seen my students excited about reading. My students love the Jitters series by Julie Danneburg. They were so happy to hear new ones that we haven't read yet. First Day Jitters is always a big hit and the latest one we read was Field Trip Fiasco. We read it right before we went on our own zoo trip. My students loved pointing out all the things we shouldn't do on the trip based on the book. I can't wait to read the rest of the series to them! \r\nThe Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has already come in handy. We printed out fun jokes puzzles for our students to find their match for April Fools Day. They had a blast trying to find the answers to their jokes. I have also used the gift card to print some graphic organziers for our new poetry writing unit. We are writing animal poems but using research. The graphic organziers really helped my students focus on specific facts about their animals. The gift card will continue to help support our classroom in our lessons. \r\nThe paper towels are a huge help in keeping our classroom clean. \r\nThank you again for your donations and for supporting my classroom. Many of my learners benefit from frequent opportunities to move throughout the day in order to stay regulated, focused, and ready to participate. When students are given the tools to conduct experiments—such as lab equipment, chemicals, or simple kits—they are no longer just reading about scientific ideas; they are actively engaging with them. This kind of experiential learning helps deepen understanding, improve retention, and make lessons more meaningful. Instead of memorizing facts, students begin to think like scientists, asking questions, testing hypotheses, and drawing conclusions based on evidence.\r\n\r\nIn addition, access to proper materials can boost student confidence and curiosity. Many students, especially in underfunded schools, may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore science in an interactive way. Donations help level the playing field, giving all students the chance to discover their interests and talents in STEM fields. When students successfully complete experiments, they gain a sense of accomplishment that can inspire them to pursue further learning and even future careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.\r\n\r\nFinally, incorporating experiments into the curriculum encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Students often work in groups during lab activities, which helps them learn how to communicate ideas, share responsibilities, and learn from one another. These skills are valuable not only in science but across all areas of education and in real-world situations. Overall, donations of science materials enrich the educational experience and help students become more engaged, capable, and motivated learners.","fullyFundedDate":1773682759344,"projectUrl":"project/science-exploration/10140070/","projectTitle":"Science Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Latona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9717044"},{"teacherId":10352703,"projectId":9906575,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping bring these wonderful new resources to our students. Your generosity has already made a meaningful difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nOur class has been using the new read-aloud books during our whole group story time, and they have quickly become a highlight of our day. The stories have sparked thoughtful discussions, predictions, and connections, and students are always excited to see which book we will read next. The new bins have also helped us organize table book bins so that each group of students has easy access to books throughout the day. Having books readily available encourages students to pick up a book during independent moments and continue building their love of reading.\r\n\r\nThe literacy center materials have also been a wonderful addition to our classroom routine. During our literacy block, students rotate through centers where they practice reading, writing, word work, and phonics skills. These materials give students hands-on ways to practice the skills we are learning, whether they are building words, sorting sounds, or completing reading activities with partners. The centers help students stay engaged and give them opportunities to practice important skills in interactive and meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard markers and erasers have been especially helpful during our Fundations lessons and writing practice. Students use their boards to practice spelling patterns, build words, and work through writing activities. Having their own materials allows everyone to actively participate, take risks with their spelling, and immediately try again if they make a mistake.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our literacy work, students are applying the phonics patterns they learn in Fundations to both their reading and writing. The read-aloud books help us model strong comprehension skills, while the whiteboards allow students to actively practice spelling and word building. These resources help make our lessons more interactive and engaging each day.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom and for supporting our students' learning. Instead of passively consuming information, students are creating with their hands and minds.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles and building blocks have become some of the most powerful learning tools in our room. Students use them to explore early engineering concepts, geometry, balance, and spatial reasoning. As they build towers, bridges, and imaginative structures, they are learning how shapes fit together, how designs can fail and be improved, and how to work through challenges with perseverance. These activities naturally encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is that they feel like real makers and inventors. The maker-focused books like Be a Maker, Made by Maxine, and Izzy Gizmo inspire students to see themselves as creative thinkers who can turn ideas into reality. After reading these stories, students eagerly plan their own inventions using craft supplies, glue guns (with teacher guidance), and building materials. They are proud to explain their designs and the thinking behind them.\r\n\r\nThe storage bins and organization tools ensure materials are accessible and student-managed, promoting independence and responsibility. Students take pride in caring for their classroom and choosing materials that support their learning.\r\n\r\nFinally, the books and creative supplies help foster a love of reading, curiosity, and courage — reinforcing the idea that mistakes are part of learning and that trying something new is worth the risk.","fullyFundedDate":1758898705097,"projectUrl":"project/stem-read-aloud/9697421/","projectTitle":"STEM Read Aloud","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hossain","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6794590_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1588998887204","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6794590"},{"teacherId":8040696,"projectId":9142367,"letterContent":"Since receiving a color ink printer through DonorsChoose, the impact on my special needs classroom has been immediate and meaningful.
