These materials have already made such a meaningful difference in our day to day OT and PT sessions.\r\n\r\nWe use the crash pad for heavy work activities, safe jumping, and emotional regulation breaks. The padded flooring and gymnastics mat allow students to participate in core strengthening exercises, balance work, and motor planning tasks with increased confidence and safety. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a student who typically avoids movement activities eagerly run toward the crash pad, take a big jump, and proudly say, \"I did it!\" The joy and sense of accomplishment on his face were unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were immediate...wide eyes, big smiles, and lots of excitement. Many of my students with ASD rely heavily on sensory input to stay regulated, and they were naturally drawn to explore the textures, the softness, and the opportunities for movement. For some, it instantly became a safe place to calm their bodies; for others, a motivating way to engage in therapy tasks that used to feel challenging.\r\n\r\nThese resources allow us to expand our current lessons on body awareness, motor planning, and self regulation. Our next steps include creating structured movement circuits that blend OT and PT goals, such as functional strength, balance, and following multi-step routines. With this equipment, our students can practice these skills in a way that feels fun, engaging, and safe.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a therapeutic environment where our students can grow, thrive, and feel successful every single day. Your support has truly made an impact.","fullyFundedDate":1758839795832,"projectUrl":"project/otpt-gym/9451778/","projectTitle":"OT/PT Gym","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pinto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9808360_orig.jpg?crop=936,936,x497,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729259510795","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9808360"},{"teacherId":1900798,"projectId":6109091,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support. Many of them face challenges both inside and outside of school, yet they continue to show up eager to learn and excited to participate. Thanks to you, I am now able to provide them with resources that make learning engaging, accessible, and empowering.
