My ultimate goal is to prepare my students for the next level. My fifth and sixth grade students struggle, but they work hard! When they enter the seventh grade, I would like them to be well-versed in many genres and able to communicate effectively with their peers regarding grade-level texts (and above). These tablets will allow them to discover texts that are beyond their borders without leaving their communities and will allow them to have conversations that create a culture where reading is not only mandatory but desirable. Tablets will give them access to various genres for their guided reading groups and literature circles.
