Your generosity has made an immediate and meaningful difference in our classroom community.\r\nBecause of you, we were able to create a designated \"Comfort Closet\" stocked with emergency clothing in a range of sizes for our middle school students. When accidents happen — whether from spills, toileting challenges, or other unexpected situations — we can now respond quickly, discreetly, and compassionately.\r\nRecently, one of our students experienced an accident during morning instruction. In the past, this would have meant extended time out of class and missed learning. Instead, we were able to provide clean, comfortable clothing right away. With reassurance and support, the student returned to class within minutes and fully participated in a small-group literacy activity later that same morning. What could have been a day marked by embarrassment became just a brief pause — and then a return to learning and confidence.\r\nWith this support in place, we are continuing to build independence and self-advocacy skills through our life-skills instruction. Students are learning to identify when they need assistance, communicate their needs, and participate in routines such as changing and organizing personal belongings. We are also continuing our literacy and social-emotional learning units, where students practice discussing feelings, problem-solving, and resilience. Having emergency clothing readily available ensures that unexpected moments do not derail these important lessons. Instead, they become teachable moments about self-care, dignity, and moving forward.\r\nYour generosity has helped us create a classroom where every student feels safe, respected, and ready to learn — no matter what the day brings.
