One powerful moment came during a lab where students tested how acidic solutions affect calcium-based shells. With the new materials, they were able to safely and accurately observe changes over time, collect real data, and—most importantly—*make connections*. Watching them realize that the same chemical processes impacting their lab samples are happening in our oceans was one of those \"lightbulb\" moments every teacher hopes for.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure excitement—lots of \"Wait, we get to use THIS?\" followed by immediate curiosity. The resources elevated the experience from a simple activity to something that felt authentic and important. Students took more ownership, asked deeper questions, and collaborated in ways that felt very much like real scientists at work.\r\n\r\nNext, we are building on this momentum by transitioning into a project on weathering, erosion, and the rock cycle. Students will use what they've learned about chemical processes to explore how Earth's surface changes over time. They'll be creating interactive models, analyzing patterns, and connecting human impact to natural systems—continuing to think critically about how science affects the world around them.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is not just learning science—we are *doing* science. This project allowed us to purchase two elevated tables which we use for conference room in our class. The student have a whiteboard which they can do ideas. They have computer chargers and a place they can do group work. This is three year dream that is now coming true. \r\n\r\nThe student use this area on a daily basis. They are using it to work on group projects and using it to do their daily work. Because it is elevated it allows for me to see what they are doing at all time anywhere in the room.
