All staff having consistent access to snacks has helped ensure that no student at Lee Elementary has to try to learn on an empty stomach.\r\n\r\nWe're using the pantry to provide quick, healthy options for students who might not have brought a snack or need something extra to stay focused throughout the day. Teachers can easily grab items from the pantry to keep in their classrooms, and students know there's always something available if they need it—no questions asked.\r\n\r\nStudents have been thrilled to access snacks, in moments when they need it most. Several commented that it was \"so many of their favorite snacks\" and teachers shared how grateful they were to have this resource ready for those little moments when a student's focus or energy starts to dip. Moving forward, our 6th grade leadership students will continue to take ownership by helping keep the pantry organized and restocked!\r\n\r\nYour donation did more than fill our shelves—it filled our students with comfort, care, and readiness to learn. Kids get to change out their books and consider if the book is too simple, a 'not yet book' (too hard), or just right. This very conscious practice helps students determine which books they feel they can access at this time and that push them toward being better readers.\r\nStudents also love the wide variety of books, from non-fiction fact books, to fairytales, to biographical picture books, there is always something to keep them looking at and choosing books. \r\nThis project allowed for old favorites to return as well as new (fast becoming favorites) to join our classroom library. \r\nThank you for your generous spirit.
