In an inclusion environment, we welcome a diverse group of learners with a wide variety of needs, styles, and strengths. Before your donation, many of our students struggled to maintain focus and manage their energy while confined to traditional, seated desks for long stretches of the day. Your support has provided us with a dynamic solution that respects their natural need for movement, and the positive shift in our classroom environment was immediate.\r\n\r\nThese standing desks have quickly become some of the most popular and beneficial features in our room. By offering students the freedom to stand while they work, you have helped us create a flexible learning space where children can release restless energy in a healthy, non-disruptive way. This simple physical adjustment has drastically improved their stamina during reading and math lessons, leading to better focus, increased participation, and a noticeable boost in confidence. Our students are no longer spending their energy trying to sit still; instead, they are channeling that energy directly into their classwork.\r\n\r\nSeeing the joy and relief on the students' faces as they utilize these desks has been truly wonderful. One of my students, who previously found it difficult to stay on task, recently stood at a desk during a writing assignment and proudly exclaimed that they felt like a \"real boss\" getting their work done. This project has shown our class that their community cares about their comfort and wants them to succeed. You have done so much more than buy furniture; you have created a more equitable, welcoming, and productive learning environment for every child who walks through our door.","fullyFundedDate":1778111369771,"projectUrl":"project/stand-up-for-success-active-learning-fo/9992137/","projectTitle":"Stand Up for Success: Active Learning for Active Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Senni","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7524573_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700598282918","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7524573"},{"teacherId":7524573,"projectId":10206168,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts—and our future gardens! Your support for our pollinator garden project has brought an immense wave of excitement to our school. Before your donation, our discussions about ecosystems, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship were limited to textbooks and screens. Now, thanks to you, our students are getting their hands dirty and watching science come to life.\r\n\r\nWith the soil, seeds, tools, and watering cans you funded, our students are achieving something truly remarkable. They are actively engaging in hands-on learning. Beyond the academic benefits, you haven't just funded a school project; you've helped create a vital sanctuary for local wildlife, actively boosting the biodiversity of our neighborhood. This project is fostering a deep sense of community pride, as our students are incredibly proud to build something permanent that improves the local environment for everyone to enjoy.\r\n\r\nSeeing the students' faces light up when the boxes of gardening supplies arrived was unforgettable. One of my students looked at the packets of milkweed and wildflower seeds and said, \"We are actually going to save the bees!\" That spark of agency and responsibility is entirely due to your kindness. Over the coming weeks, we will be planting, watering, and watching our hard work grow. Simple things like their favorite snacks Takis, Rice Krispy treats, and Nutri-Grain bars brought huge smiles, while essentials like water, Gatorade, deodorant, tissues, and Lysol wipes helped create a cleaner, healthier space for learning. The addition of pants for both boys and girls has also been incredibly helpful during the cold New Jersey winter, ensuring that students can stay warm and comfortable throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThese resources have become a part of our daily routine. The books we received have also been added to our classroom library, giving students more opportunities to read and explore new topics independently. Because of your support, my students are learning in a safer, more supportive environment where their basic needs are being met.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources to support both academic and personal growth.
