I am requesting a diverse collection of books to help my students gain a better understanding of the world while deepening their love for reading. Students read daily in the classroom both independently and as a class. Every day students choice a book from the classroom library to read independently. A large selection of diverse books at a variety of reading levels will allow my students a larger option to explore. Not all of my students are reading on grade level. Students who read below grade level in my classroom often find it difficult to choose a book on their reading level that also meets their interests. My students will be able to both relate to books in this selection and explore different cultural perspectives. By donating to our project, you will not only be supplying books, you will be supplying my students with the opportunity to expand their worldly knowledge and love of reading.
