These texts give students opportunities to practice identifying key details, comparing information across sources, and asking thoughtful questions about the world around them. With nonfiction, they aren't just learning to read—they are learning how to find evidence, think critically, and connect new knowledge to their own lives. These are skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nIn our library, reading has become a time of excitement and exploration. Students gather in small groups to share interesting facts, take notes in their reading journals, and even debate what they've learned. Nonfiction texts help us shift from reading \"just for practice\" to reading with purpose. For example, when a student discovers a fascinating detail about space or animals, it often sparks a conversation that engages the whole class. The books have transformed our reading time into a space where students feel like real researchers and explorers.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially found joy in these new books. One student who used to be hesitant to read now proudly checks out animal fact books each week, eager to share what she learns with her classmates. Another student, who loves building and creating, is drawn to texts about inventions and engineering—he even started sketching his own designs inspired by what he read. These moments remind us that the books are not just resources; they are opening doors to new interests, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1744920472590,"projectUrl":"project/beyond-boundaries-a-journey-through-the/9223904/","projectTitle":"Beyond Boundaries: A Journey Through the World of Knowledge","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7787888"},{"teacherId":9496712,"projectId":9474580,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all of your generosity and support for my classroom.
