While there are students that have chosen to attend school in person, this decision may change suddenly. COVID-19 and its variants are still very strong in my school's neighborhood. Students are being required to be quarantined for safety purposes; however, they still need to have an opportunity to not miss classroom instruction. The requested laptop can help by providing online instruction to quarantined students so they can still participate in classroom instruction without disruptions. They won't have to miss two weeks of instruction. Nor will they be isolated from their peers, because they will have opportunities to interact with their friends via the laptop's camera and microphone. A new laptop can greatly increase an educators effectiveness and efficiency. There are many educational resources that are available online that can help to remediate the negative effects of distance learning. A faster and more efficient laptop would allow an educator to spend less time searching for instructional aids and concentrate more on the individual needs of students. Some books have also been requested. Both books will aid classroom instruction. They will tremendously increase the engagement of struggling readers. In the class, we read aloud a chapter book. The illustrations contained in the book will help keep the interest of struggling readers and help all students master the common core standard RL.4.3. This standard deals will using details regarding story elements. The students will be able compare and contrast what they envision in their minds with what they see in the illustrations.
