Their eyes lit up as we unboxed them, and they couldn't wait to grab markers and start working together. Having dedicated, vertical workspaces has immediately transformed the energy in our classroom, making learning feel much more active, hands-on, and visual.\r\nWe have already put these easels to great use during our daily learning groups. During a recent reading comprehension lesson, small groups of students gathered around the easels to break down complex stories, map out main ideas, and build graphic organizers together. Instead of working quietly at their desks on individual worksheets, the students were standing, actively discussing strategies, and co-authoring their ideas on the shared boards. The vertical, visible learning surface gives every student in the group a voice and keeps everyone engaged in teamwork.\r\nAs we move forward, these easels will continue to be a focal point for our upcoming units. Next week, we are diving into collaborative math problem-solving and scientific investigations, where students will use the easels to brainstorm hypotheses, work through multi-step word problems, and display their group work for peer feedback. Your support has given my third and fourth graders an equitable space to think, collaborate, and grow as confident learners every day. We recently received the materials funded through our DonorsChoose project, and I can't tell you how meaningful your contribution has been for my students and me. \r\n\r\nWe've already started putting the resources to work. For example, we started our unit on government and democracy recently. The materials have been vital to all my students, but especially those with disabilities. Using the voting paddles and reading tools have created instant engagement and understanding of complex topics.
