These new resources have helped us bring hands-on science to life in a way my students will never forget.\r\nWe've been using the incubator, heat lamp, and science tools every day as we carefully observe our eggs and record changes. One of the most special moments happened when we noticed our very first crack in an eggshell. The entire class gathered quietly around the incubator, eyes wide, hands covering their mouths and one student whispered, \"It's really happening!\" That moment of wonder and connection to real-life science was made possible because of your support.\r\nWe've also been busy planting seeds using the soil, cups, and tools from this project. During our science centers, the students gently scooped soil, pressed seeds into place, and watered their cups with so much care. Many of my English learners and shy students who don't always speak up during lessons became confident little scientists as they explained what plants need to grow or predicted when our seedlings might sprout.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was priceless. Students immediately wanted to touch the seed packets, look through the magnifying glasses, and peek inside the incubator. Some even asked if the chicks could hear them talking! Their curiosity has grown every single day.\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue to observe the chicks as they grow and care for our classroom garden. Students will compare how fast our seedlings sprout, measure plant growth, and learn responsibility as they help feed and clean up after the chicks. Their next steps include creating simple science journals where they'll draw, label, and talk about what they observe.\r\nThank you for giving my students an unforgettable, hands-on learning experience. Your generosity has helped us spark curiosity, joy, and a love of science that will stay with them long after kindergarten.","fullyFundedDate":1743009727248,"projectUrl":"project/spark-curiosity-hands-on-science-explor/9124408/","projectTitle":"Spark Curiosity: Hands-On Science Exploration for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Farmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8164137"},{"teacherId":9637981,"projectId":9490780,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our learning space has become a place where every student, regardless of age, ability, or reading level, can find a book that speaks to them. I work with students across a wide range of grades, and I see every day how diverse their needs and interests are. These new books have allowed me to meet students where they are, offering developmentally appropriate stories. Whether we're exploring early literacy skills, such as identifying characters or retelling each book, it opens a door to learning and connection.\r\n\r\nI often end our sessions with a story, and it has become a favorite part of the day. I've seen students memorize entire stories, reciting them back to me with confidence and pride. One student in particular now insists on reading the final story of the day to me, turning it into a moment of leadership. For students who are still developing language skills or learning English, the visuals and repetition in many of these texts offer scaffolding that supports comprehension and participation. \r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of books and the magic of inclusive education. The children have also enjoyed being able to watch balls roll down the tower til they hit bottom. The books you donated did just that. \r\n\r\nAs a class, we were able to have conversations about so many interesting topics. When we read \"You Are the First Kid on Mars\", we discussed space travel and the impact it could have in the future. When we read \"Children Who Dance in the Rain,\" kids had a lot of questions about how children in other parts of the world, particularly impoverished countries, live and how gratitude for what we have is so important. \"Stronger Than Steel\" gave us a deep appreciation for spider silk.
