Reading in my 6th-grade classroom looks different from day to day. Every nine weeks, we have a different book study. \r\n\r\nFor some of the chapters, students were able to read with a friend, answer questions, and then we would have a group discussion. Some days they would read independently. To ensure they understood the chapters, after they read for classwork or homework, I would read the chapter aloud and talk about vocabulary, the setting, and the events that are happening in that chapter.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, due to it being the end of the school year to receive my books. The place where I was ordering my set of books could not accommodate the numbers of books that I needed. Donors choose cancel my order and told me wait until the beginning of the school to reorder. During summer vacation, I was able to get two used class sets from eBay from a retiring teacher.\r\n\r\nSo I ended up spending the Donor Choose book money on a Carolina Book Display which allow me to display books about the topic I am teaching.
