They also learn how biodiversity or lack of biodiversity can affect the environment. These labs that were purchased helped give my students the opportunity to explore the role of plants in providing energy for an ecosystem as well as the impact that human activity can have on an ecosystem and the biodiversity that occurs. These labs really helped students see the impact. When we added fertilizers to our terrariums we saw a decline in the health of the ecosystem.
