Because of your incredible support, every single one of my English Language Arts students has their very own durable binder, and we have seen the results for months now. This isn't just a simple school supply; it's a foundational tool that has already completely transformed how they manage their learning throughout the year. We have successfully moved away from the chaos of loose papers and scattered notes and toward a streamlined system that consistently promotes responsibility and success. Your kindness provided the essential structure needed to cultivate a highly organized and productive classroom environment, which we are now enjoying every day.\r\n\r\nThe positive impact of these binders is visible daily in our lessons. Having a central place to keep hard copies of readings and assignments means students are accessing materials instantly, which has virtually eliminated lost work and frustrating searches. More importantly, these binders have been essential for practicing critical organizational and executive functioning skills—tools they are actively developing for life beyond my classroom. This solid structure has allowed us to consistently practice annotating physical texts, and we have already built up their close-reading skills as they create a personalized, accessible portfolio of their work. This sustained investment in their writing process and organizational habits is paying off immensely.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and my students, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this project a reality. It is truly motivating to know that people like you believe in the importance of tangible resources in education. These binders continue to empower my students to take ownership of their ELA journey, stay prepared, and succeed. These labs that were purchased helped give my students the opportunity to explore the role of plants in providing energy for an ecosystem as well as the impact that human activity can have on an ecosystem and the biodiversity that occurs. These labs really helped students see the impact. When we added fertilizers to our terrariums we saw a decline in the health of the ecosystem. This tool has transformed the way my students experience science. When learning about earth resources, we used it to measure the thermal output of different fuels—wood, alcohol, and charcoal—as part of our study on energy density. Instead of only hearing about how fuels release energy, students were able to see the heat patterns in real time. That visual connection made an abstract concept concrete, and it sparked so many thoughtful questions and \"aha\" moments.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, this was one of the most exciting experiments they've ever done in science. The thermal camera let them explore invisible heat energy in a way that felt like discovering a hidden world. They were amazed to watch the different fuels give off distinct thermal signatures and immediately wanted to compare, analyze, and explain what they saw. Beyond this experiment, the camera will help us in future lessons on energy transfer, environmental science, and even engineering projects, giving students a powerful new way to connect technology with real-world science.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity. The fidgets have been especially helpful—students who sometimes struggle to stay focused now have a quiet way to channel their energy and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nWe use the class store as part of our classroom management system. Students earn points for positive behaviors like participation, collaboration, and effort. On Fridays, they can \"shop\" with their points and choose from treats, candy, or fun fidgets. This system has not only increased engagement but also encouraged responsibility and teamwork, since students cheer each other on as they work toward rewards. One memorable moment was when a student proudly saved points for several weeks to \"buy\" a bigger prize—his sense of accomplishment was contagious, and the whole class celebrated with him.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more positive and encouraging. The next step for my students is to apply this motivation as we move into more challenging lessons this semester. Knowing there's a fun and meaningful reward system in place keeps them focused on their goals and builds a stronger sense of community in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742908712167,"projectUrl":"project/tienda-de-clase/9176248/","projectTitle":"Tienda de Clase","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9176610_orig.jpg?crop=587,587,x95,y145&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691790061560","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9176610"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33404","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":806,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.2,"schoolId":33404,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Ogden Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Ogden Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/ogden-school-district/mt-ogden-junior-high-school/33404"}
