It was exciting to see their curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the process.\r\n\r\nI teach in an inclusion classroom, and I saw significant growth from my special education students as well. Some of these students can be difficult to engage during a typical lesson, but they were actively participating and successfully completing these labs. I am in my third year of teaching and my very first one in middle school, the transition has been great and I love to witness everything my students are able to do. This is a Spanish immersion classroom, so we are fully immersed and learn, read, write and breathe in Spanish. \r\n\r\nStudents especially loved the \"special seats\", I am using them as an incentive for good behavior and as a chill space for them to read or work independently. They also liked and are enjoying the various topics books in Spanish, they are welcome to read when they finish early and to take them home during the weekend. Reading about people that they admire has been a great motivator for them to want to open one of these books. \r\nMy plan is to select a few students who have showed love for reading to become a \"reading buddy\" with one of the first graders from our local elementary school. \r\n\r\nLittle by little I am turning my classroom into a inviting, cozy and motivating space for students to keep shining, practicing their Spanish skills and have fun while doing it.","fullyFundedDate":1761335230751,"projectUrl":"project/setting-6th-g-classroom/9850812/","projectTitle":"Setting 6th G Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. MOLINA","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10325896_orig.png?crop=796,796,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761067554729","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10325896"},{"teacherId":10327348,"projectId":9853612,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students are actively using these new resources every day in our classroom. There were smiles, excitement, and lots of curiosity as they explored how everything worked. Several students shared how excited they were to try something new, and it immediately increased engagement and positive behavior during lessons.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping us build skills such as teamwork, confidence, and perseverance while reinforcing the importance of physical activity and healthy habits. The Learning Resources® Code & Go™ Robot Mouse has had a powerful impact on my students by allowing them to build foundational coding and robotics literacy in an engaging, hands-on way. This concrete, screen-free technology made abstract coding concepts accessible and fun, especially for students who benefit from tactile and visual learning. Many students who were initially hesitant with coding quickly gained confidence as they successfully planned, tested, and revised their programs. These learners showed increased participation, collaboration, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nThe mouse robots also allowed us to integrate math standards through measurement and spatial reasoning, reinforcing literacy and numeracy together. Both items have been very beneficial within the classroom. Shoulder rests are very important for violin and viola students to provide two things: comfort and correct finger positioning. Shoulder rests are placed on the back of violins and violas and is in between the left shoulder and left side of chin. As mentioned before, the shoulder rest provides comfort for violinists and violists. Without the shoulder rest, the violin/viola will rest on the left collarbone providing discomfort and can ultimately lead to health issues later on in life. Correct finger positioning. While shoulder rests provide comfort for violinists and violists, they also help musicians to have accurate posture to place fingers on the fingerboard to perform correct notes. Without the shoulder rests, postures can distort the sound coming from the violins and violas.\r\n\r\nPencils a.k.a. writing utensils have been EXTREMELY beneficial in my orchestra classroom. I am old fashioned in the sense I have my students write in different tempos, rhythms and other notes to help students remember how to play difficult sections within their music. With the pack of 300 pencils, more students have been able to write notes within their music and having less difficulty forgetting their notes and rhythms in orchestra rehearsals due to having their pencils on their stands to take notes.
