I teach English as a Second Language at a title 1 school in Delaware. I have 24 students that speak Spanish or Arabic as a first language. The population of English Language Learners is rapidly growing and all of my students are at different levels. Some students come in slightly below grade level in reading and writing, while others have no literacy skills or vocabulary in English at all! I have some students that move to the United States when they are in the upper grades with very little knowledge of the English Language. They are embarrassed to read "baby books". Leapfrog will help them read at their individual level and others will not be able to tell which skill their peers are working on. This will help the students gain confidence and not shut down. The technology would help to engage them in learning. All of my students are very sweet and excited to learn.
