The two document cameras that are being requested have a home waiting for them in two 7th grade classrooms. In our middle school math classroom, it is important for students to share ideas, question others work, and collaborate to problem solve through higher order tasks . The document camera allows students to problem solve in small groups and show their ideas and work to the class. Every student has the ability to developing important mathematical ideas and should have easy access to sharing their ideas. The goal of my math classroom is to give students a grade level appropriate task where each students has an entry point. Students are then able to shift the focus from the teacher being the "knowledge holder" to the students being the ones that hold the mathematical knowledge.
