Your generosity has already made a heartfelt impact on my students in ways that are truly meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen the rainbow timer, sensory toys, tiny couch, and stuffed animal arrived, my students' faces lit up with pure joy. As I carefully unpacked each item, the students gathered around with wide, curious eyes. Many of them ran their hands over the sensory items, trying them out one by one, and a few even whispered \"Is this really for us?\" The tiny couch instantly became a favorite—students take turns curling up on it with the stuffed animal when they need a moment to breathe, calm down, or feel emotionally safe. Watching them find comfort in these tools has been incredibly moving.\r\n\r\nWe've started using the rainbow timer during our daily self-regulation lessons and daily social emotional learning check-ins. One moment that stands out was when a student who often struggles with big feelings asked if he could use the timer \"to help my body calm down.\" He watched the colors flow from top to bottom and was able to return to the group feeling more grounded. It was such a powerful reminder of why resources like these matter so much.\r\n\r\nYour support came at the perfect time. We are currently working on building emotional awareness and practicing coping strategies during morning meetings and literacy circles. These new materials have added a whole new layer of safety, comfort, and independence for my students. Our next steps include teaching them how to choose a strategy that works best for their needs—whether it's using a sensory toy, taking a break on the cozy couch, or watching the rainbow timer during a calming moment.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students a space where they feel understood, supported, and loved. The writing tools you gifted my special education program has been so beneficial to the development of my young scholars' writing skills. They were especially excited to use the adapted paper. They call it \"fancy paper\". It has been very useful because many of my students have difficulty starting at the margins of regular lined paper. The adapted paper has a highlighted box that serve as a visual reminder for the students to start at the left. This is a great scaffolding tool for them to use as they learn to do this independently.\r\n\r\nThe tri grip pencils and rubber pencil grasps have also been extremely helpful for my students whose fine motor skills are still developing. The tri grip pencil is large enough so that my youngest scholars can get a better grip on it and increase the pressure of their writing. The rubber grasps have assisted with my older students who do not yet have a correct pencil grasp, which is crucial for proper writing and comfort. The grasps fit on the pens and thinner pencils the students are using in the middle grades.\r\n\r\nWhile these items may be small in size, they have been mighty in the difference they have made in my students' fine motor skills and their writing development. I first set up the seats on our classroom rug prior to my students arriving. Upon seeing the seats they had a look of surprise but excitement, immediately asking if it was for them. I told them yes, that it was from Donors Choose (of which they are familiar with). I showed them how to safely sit on the seats and invited them to spend some time sitting on the seats while reading. At first, they couldn't relax, just kept giggling and getting comfortable. After a short time, they finally relaxed and began reading and having light conversations with each other. One result I did not expect from this generous gift was how it encouraged student bonding. I noticed as time went on, they would intentionally slide the seats together and read/work with each other, more so than usual.\r\n\r\nThe tray tables have been a great addition to our flexible work spaces. Many of my students work more efficiently while sitting on the floor but it can be a struggle to write even with a clipboard. In addition, the table is just large enough for pairs of students to work together. I have found that adding the seats and the table as part of our flexible work space has improved my students' focus and has increased their motivation to learn and complete work.\r\n\r\nWhat you have done for my amazing young scholars goes far beyond just a generous donation.
