When the students want to express their creative ideas in writing, the pencils eventually wear down. Having a pencil ready will help keep them focused on their main writing goals. Also, the students will be less distracted to complete their work. The students sometimes ask to borrow each others sharpeners. At no fault of their own, they want to help each other by lending their school supplies. This can cause a distraction. Having their own supplies, can help maintain focus on their writing.
