By teaching digital literacy, I'm able to help my students become better informed citizens and help them navigate digital landscapes that have not existed in the past. In my opinion, the sources you have provided to my students have had a huge impact.\r\n\r\nThe markers you provided were used to create posters that highlighted elements necessary for the creation of a good constitution. As students have been able to analyze the philosophers of the past, they have been able to identify principles that our founders used when creating the U. S. constitution. But it has also shown them that to make meaningful change a person needs to NOT follow the same paths as most of the humans in this story.\r\n\r\nMy students have loved this story for the twists and turns that Ishiguro weaves into the narrative as well. For some of them, these granola bars or chips are the only thing they will have eaten all day at school. Your willingness to donate to our cause has given me a way to help them in a very real, very tangible way that I couldn't afford to do on my own. I am so grateful to you for helping me help them to not be so hungry at school.\r\n\r\nThe day the food started arriving, my students were so excited. One class ate through an entire box of granola bars before I had a chance to tuck the rest away. And during a recent lockdown at our school, when no one could leave for lunch, those snacks became more than just a treat—they were really needed. My students were so grateful that there was something they could have that would tide them over until they could get some lunch. With the addition of sewing machines and sergers, our costume crew was able to create period-accurate garments with intricate details, giving students hands-on experience in theatrical costuming. Meanwhile, our set construction team used the new tools to build sturdy, detailed set pieces that transported our audience to the world of Anatevka. Watching my students take ownership of these technical elements—troubleshooting sewing patterns, refining woodworking techniques, and collaborating across departments—was an inspiring testament to the power of hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. Many had never worked with professional sewing machines or power tools before, and this experience gave them the confidence to learn new skills that will serve them far beyond this production. Even after Fiddler on the Roof closes, these resources will continue to benefit our theatre program for years to come, allowing future students to build, sew, and create with the same level of artistic excellence. Our next step is to channel this momentum into our upcoming projects, using these tools to enhance future productions and deepen our students' technical knowledge. Because of our donors, these young artists now have the means to dream bigger, create boldly, and gain invaluable real-world experience in theatre production.","fullyFundedDate":1729868160000,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-create-fiddler-on-the-roof/8885459/","projectTitle":"Help Us Create Fiddler on the Roof!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nelsen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mindy-nelsen"},{"teacherId":7847522,"projectId":8840593,"letterContent":"Maybe this sounds cheesy, but I think books are magic.
