This is one of my favorite books to share with students, and I am incredibly excited that our students will now have their own copy to read, explore, and learn from.\r\n\r\nBeginning next month, students will use Hatchet to strengthen important reading skills, especially identifying key details and summarizing. As they read each chapter, they will write a summary and draw an important scene. At the end of the project, students will put their work together to create their own Hatchet book portfolio—a meaningful keepsake that shows their learning and growth.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made this project even more impactful than I originally hoped. The other 4th grade teachers were so excited about the project and the books that all three 4th grade classes will be using the class sets! That means your donation will reach nearly 90 students every year.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make high-quality literature and meaningful learning experiences possible for our students. Your support will inspire young readers, strengthen their reading skills, and help make Hatchet a memorable part of their 4th grade experience.","fullyFundedDate":1785518992312,"projectUrl":"project/put-hatchet-into-every-students-hands/10415247/","projectTitle":"Put Hatchet Into Every Student's Hands","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hume","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10105188"},{"teacherId":9646755,"projectId":9565319,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations. It was truly a joy to see their faces light up as they discovered new stories, characters, and adventures to dive into.\r\n\r\nNow, every day I see students reading during free time, trading books with friends, and talking enthusiastically about what they're reading. I really wanted to thank you for your generous donations. I was able to restock some much used art materials as well as adding some great new toys that sparked so much curiosity. They really enjoyed the science viewers. They were able to look at real life animals from different habitats and started to ask questions about those animals like \"where can i buy a polar bear?\" and \"what do lions eat?\" They also have so much fun with the Alphabet sound tubs. They work in small groups and pick some of the small toys and the rest of the students have to guess the letter. It brings them so much laughter and joy being the letter keeper. \r\nWhen the materials arrived they were so excited and ready break the boxes open. I slowly introduced the materials and explained how to use and take care of the toys. once they were able to tell how they would play nicely with the new toys I set up small stations so students were able to explore they new toys in small groups. I kept hearing \"wow, ooooo, ah and this is so cool\". With the new materials I was able to expand my science center and create new centers in the classroom for children to learn. I am so thankful to you all.
