They are used when students need a break, work with other students, work in small group with a teacher, and work one-on-one with a teacher. Teachers and other adults can, also, use these stools to move near students who are working at their own tables. They help keep all of the manipulatives in one placing when building or playing games. It also makes clean up much easier for students this age when all of the supplies are on one tray. \r\n\r\nI most recently showed them the paint palettes two weeks ago and they all screamed with excitement. In our tree unit, we are going to paint trees to go along with our writing and reading. It was amazing to see this joy to make connections to art and literacy.\r\n\r\nI plan to continue to use these paint palettes as a way to bring joy and a connection to art and literacy this year! We have rolled the workbench out to the middle of the room so several students can stand and work on projects as well. The workbench is used as a table for the Cricut machine and for other crafts and projects students have been working on. For example, we had a candy gram fundraiser for the holidays and students were in charge of running it. They used the workbench to make the candy grams and send them out to students. \r\n\r\nThe prize wheel is used every Friday for our \"Crossan Chances\" program. Students are given a \"Crossan Chance\" for showing good behavior or being on task in class. Student names are picked from a hat at the end of each week and they can spin the prize wheel for prizes.
