Our classroom has a large area in the front of the room where we meet daily. This is the space that we use for morning meeting and the majority of our whole class learning. It is also an area that students choose for independent work, small group activities, or partner reading. We also have a reading corner that houses our classroom library. This is a favorite spot for students to enjoy a good book with a friend. I encourage as much movement as possible for my active young learners, so having more comfortable classroom seating options around the room would be ideal! A classroom rug will make our meeting area a more inviting and comfortable place for our class to gather throughout the day. Some brightly colored, cozy bean bag chairs for the reading corner will provide students with another seating option in the room, giving them an opportunity to get out of their desks once in awhile. Adding these items to our classroom will help my students choose how and where they learn best!
