The chargers were kept in an easy-to-access area so students could power up quickly. This alone made a huge difference, as students no longer had dead devices.\r\n\r\nSnacks and candy were available during class periods for prizes, or when students simply needed a little extra boost to stay focused. While these may seem like small things, they helped students stay engaged. Having tissues and hand sanitizer available also helped students, it cause less need to leave the classroom. \r\n\r\nOverall, these materials helped create a more supportive and welcoming learning environment. We even decided to donate the money that was made to provide relief funds for the Red Cross as they help people who have suffered in the Los Angeles wild fires! They have been excited to bake, package and deliver these dog treats. We have worked on advertisements, pricing and package appeal. The high school students are proud and feel a true sense of accomplishment as they worked through a team effort to get this done! \r\n\r\nOverall, we know, we could not have done this without your donations and belief in our abilities to do GOOD and be GOOD, god bless and go BILLS!!","fullyFundedDate":1727056351126,"projectUrl":"project/school-based-enterprise-to-improve-men/8809518/","projectTitle":"School - Based Enterprise to Improve Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zuccari","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9770803"},{"teacherId":9140588,"projectId":8873196,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous support of my classroom project! Each week for 8 weeks, our high school students went in (as pairs) to provide friendship activities and spread positive messages.\r\nTwo activities that stand out are our story of the \"warm fuzzies\" and also our snowman activity. The first one involved our creation of warm fuzzies using the pom poms and googly eyes we received from our grant. The high schoolers read a story to the elementary students about how spreading kindness makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside. Then each student and classroom received a warm fuzzy (that our high schoolers made) as a tangible reminder to be kind. The second activity involved making snowmen together with the snowman craft kit we received with the grant. This was a fun activity leading up to the school break and the little kids loved it so much!\r\nEach of these activities meant so much to all the students involved. The teachers of the elementary students said it was the highlight of the week when the Girls Leadership Academy would come to visit. \r\nOur next steps are to use the remaining crafts for either another elementary school or a nursing home. \r\nWith gratitude,\r\nMichele Taberski","fullyFundedDate":1729860961843,"projectUrl":"project/help-girls-leadership-academy-make-a-dif/8865855/","projectTitle":"Help Girls Leadership Academy Make a Difference in Their Community!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Taberski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797772"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21900","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1235,"numTeachers":130,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":66,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"9.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.5,"schoolId":21900,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kenmore West High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kenmore West High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/kenmore-town-of-tonawanda-union-free-school-district/kenmore-west-senior-high-school/21900"}
