Kids love pins and buttons and we World Language teachers can think of so many uses for a button maker! Kids can make buttons of German/Spanish/French idioms and video themselves explaining the idiom to friends and family. Button making can be a holiday craft-- Students can design a button to celebrate Dia de los Muertos or Martinstag. Class-made buttons can become part of a game. For example, let's play a game of "Who am I?" We could make a whole class set of jobs (fireman? policeman?) Students get a button pinned to the back of their t-shirt and have to ask questions to find out their occupation. We're not even getting into buttons as prizes for games or for a student with a birthday! Help us button up languages here in Kenmore!
