The Ziploc bags have helped them keep their supplies neat and accessible, which reduces lost materials and distractions during lessons. Something as simple as organization allows students to transition more smoothly between activities and spend more time engaged in learning.\r\n\r\nThe Clorox wipes and tissues have helped us maintain a clean and healthy classroom. By minimizing germs and keeping shared spaces sanitized, we are able to reduce disruptions and maximize the number of days we are together learning in person. A safe, healthy environment gives students peace of mind and helps families feel reassured.\r\n\r\nThe student boards have had one of the most immediate impacts on instruction. They allow students to show their thinking in real time—whether solving math problems, practicing vocabulary, or responding to comprehension questions. I am able to quickly assess understanding, address misconceptions, and adjust instruction on the spot. Students feel more confident participating because they can try, revise, and share their ideas in a low-pressure way. This has increased engagement, accountability, and active participation across the classroom.\r\n\r\nFinally, the new school supplies ensured we started the year prepared and ready to dive into learning without worry. Students no longer have to stress about not having the materials they need. Instead, they can focus fully on growing, exploring, and achieving.","fullyFundedDate":1758219650095,"projectUrl":"project/school-supplies-for-the-new-year/9659130/","projectTitle":"School Supplies for the New Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Li","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5175353"},{"teacherId":5175353,"projectId":9888008,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our classroom through the gift of the Flex-Space Write & Wipe Mobile Group Table. This table is already playing a key role in helping my students build essential STEM skills in meaningful and engaging ways.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase surface provides students with a hands-on space to plan, test, and refine their thinking as they work through experiments, engineering challenges, and math problems. Instead of keeping their ideas confined to paper, students can sketch models, record data, solve equations, and map out solutions directly on the tabletop. Their thinking becomes visible—not just to me, but to one another—making it easier to adjust, revise, and improve their work in real time.\r\n\r\nThis flexible and mobile workspace also strengthens important STEM habits of mind: creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. Students naturally gather around the table to share ideas, question one another's reasoning, and problem-solve as a team. Whether they are designing a structure, graphing results, or exploring cause and effect relationships, the table transforms abstract concepts into active, hands-on learning experiences.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is becoming a space where curiosity leads the way and learning feels dynamic and collaborative. Your generosity is making a meaningful difference in the daily learning experiences of my English Language Learners.\r\n\r\nMy students rely heavily on listening to spoken English to strengthen their reading, listening, and speaking skills. During independent work time, they often listen to stories online to build vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. We also use digital platforms that allow students to record their own read-alouds so they can self-monitor their pronunciation, pacing, and expression. Having quality headsets with microphones gives them the tools they need to focus, hear clearly, and confidently practice speaking without distractions.\r\n\r\nThe headphones help engage and empower learners by creating a space where they can concentrate and take ownership of their growth. Students feel more comfortable recording their voices and reflecting on their progress, which builds both language skills and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe presentation pointer has also enhanced our classroom instruction. It allows me to clearly emphasize key information during lessons, helping students focus on important details in texts, visuals, and directions. For language learners especially, this visual clarity supports comprehension and keeps them actively engaged.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I am better able to meet the diverse needs of my learners and create a classroom environment where all students feel supported and capable. From losing materials to not having enough space for storage on my old cart, I felt like I spent too much time managing materials rather than preparing to teach students. I was over the moon when generous donors like you contributed to my dream of having an organized STEAM cart that could accommodate all elementary levels and needs. Once the project was fully funded, I ran into another issue - the company that I was going to order from was unable to fulfill my order. Fortunately, I was able to find another, which was a huge plus because it was less expensive! \r\n\r\nWith the additional funding, I was able to purchase a diverse selection of STEM toys for my youngest students in K1 and K2 and my students with disabilities who need safer toys. Doing engineering can be challenging for all these students because they are developing fine motor skills at a young age or they may have limited mobility due to their disabilities. Your donation to this project not only helped me to support students in bringing them the materials they need in an organized way, but it also brought great joy to to everyone who was able to play with these new toys. From magnetic tiles to Clixo, students have been highly engaged in exploring engineering concepts because of these new tools. No matter the grade level, students were excited to play - an important part of their engineering learning experience. \r\n\r\nStudents were also excited when they were introduced to the new STEAM cart - they loved the colorful bins, the way they would easily find what they needed, and that everyone could reach all of the bins.
