We are an urban, inner city public elementary school that has a population of just under 900 students from many different cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic levels. Our students come to school ready to learn and are held to very high standards each day. Despite the fact that a small percentage of our students may have social and emotional difficulties, all of our students are closely monitored and given a tremendous amount of support. Our mission is to provide a challenging academic program that gives our students the means to meet high standards in order to excel with the best ability. We foster sound habits and healthy mind and body, and instill in them such virtues as integrity, respect, and self-discipline. We provide a nurturing environment and effective teaching methods that promotes independent learning.
