Your generosity has provided my students with a wonderful collection of fidgets and sensory tools that will make a meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nIn middle school, students are navigating so many changes while also being expected to learn, focus, collaborate, and manage their emotions throughout a busy school day. For many of my students, having something small to hold, squeeze, click, or manipulate can make it easier to focus their attention, manage stress, and feel comfortable in the classroom.\r\n\r\nI have already seen how popular fidgets are with my students, and I wanted to create a classroom where these tools are available to students who need them—not as a distraction or a reward, but as a resource that can help them be successful learners. Your donation allows me to stock our student store with a variety of fidgets that students can earn through our classroom system, which recognizes kindness, respect, responsibility, participation, perseverance, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nWhat makes this especially meaningful to me is that these items communicate something bigger to my students: you matter, your well-being matters, and we want you to have the tools you need to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping me create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, respected, and valued. Your generosity reaches far beyond the individual fidgets—it helps create a more positive classroom environment and gives my students another way to regulate, refocus, and re-engage with learning.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for your support and for believing in the students at James Denman Middle School!\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1789595280907,"projectUrl":"project/small-fidgets-big-focus/10643532/","projectTitle":"Small Fidgets, Big Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp38844_orig.png?crop=1256,1256,x0,y159&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565225853928","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsannagin"},{"teacherId":38844,"projectId":10210970,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom through DonorsChoose! Your generosity has provided our students with the filament needed to keep our 3D printers running n our coding, math, and science classes.\r\n\r\nI have already put your gift to work! I will be starting the year with a unit in geometry. I have printed geometric models that they can hold, examine, and use to better understand three-dimensional shapes. Instead of simply looking at pictures in a textbook, they will able to explore vertices, edges, faces, and volume with physical models.\r\n\r\nIn science, I have also started printing detailed models of bacteria and virus cells for our upcoming cells unit. These models will help students visualize structures that are far too small to see with the naked eye, making abstract scientific concepts much more meaningful and engaging.\r\n\r\nBeyond supporting our math and science curriculum, this filament will allow students in coding to bring their ideas to life through design and engineering. As they learn to solve problems, think creatively, and use technology as a tool for innovation, they gain valuable skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is giving my students opportunities they might not otherwise have. Because of you, our students felt seen, cared for, and empowered in such a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the hygiene kits were first distributed, students were genuinely excited and grateful. Many of them shared how much it meant to have their own personal items, something as simple as having these resources readily available in their backpacks made a huge difference. It removed the embarrassment or hesitation of having to ask for basic necessities and gave them a sense of confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWe have been using these resources as part of ongoing conversations around self-care, hygiene, and overall well-being. During our sessions, students engaged in open and honest discussions about taking care of their bodies, understanding changes related to growth and hormones, and normalizing experiences that can often feel confusing or isolating. One powerful moment was seeing students support one another, sharing tips, asking questions, and realizing they are not alone in what they are going through.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue building on this foundation by integrating more lessons around self-care, mental health, and confidence. Students will have opportunities to reflect on what self-care means to them and develop their own routines that support both their physical and emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nYour contribution gave our students more than just supplies, it gave them dignity, knowledge, and reassurance.
