I tell our students to 'pick their favorite circle' and they're happy to have agency in their seating; sometimes they'll tell me their favorite, like 'My circle has pink!'\r\n\r\nThe rug also serves as a soft, welcoming option for self-regulation, providing a safe space for students to sit and reset when they feel overwhelmed. Many students shared how good it felt to help others and to know their work would support classmates they may not even know.
