Between getting lost, being dried up, and taken home, markers are always being used. I use the sticky tack to put up anchor charts on the walls and use it a lot as we are in a new school building and are not allowed to use tape. We soon found out these kept falling by the movement of desks being moved. Additionally, the pieces kept falling off. They now store other classroom materials that are not always constantly accessed by the students such as big expo markers and teacher materials. Students were in need of math bins where they could store their math manipulative and math work they complete during math centers. These bins are all green to help them differentiate between their reading work bins and their math bins. Students have been working on consistently and independently pulling out their math bins which they pull out during Whole group math and occupy throughout math centers. Students have classroom money based on US currency which students use to purchase things from the store. Students absolutely love the spinners, squishy balls, and play-doh. I alternate the things and add new prizes every time we do store. Student are encouraged to take their wallets home and count their money. Students are motivated to listen, follow directions, complete work. And complete expectations.
