Students will work independently at the technology station while the teacher is working with a small group of students. Students will use the Apps on the iPad to improve letter recognition, letter sounds, number recognition, shape identification, and letter and number writing. As the students gain mastery in these skills, they will move to reading sight words and simple sentences. Students will listen to stories to gain comprehension skills. The iPad is also a tool to transition behaviorally challenged students. These students need frequent breaks throughout the day. The iPad can be used independently and quietly without interrupting class instruction.
