Thanks to your generosity I was able to create some new visual supports/Assistive technology books for my students. The straps work perfectly to help the students carry the new books around with them. The plastic flexible binders are awesome and worked great. I love how they are flexible and do not rip which is perfect for younger students. My students also love all the different colors the binders came in, so it allowed them to pick their favorite color as well as know which book is theirs. \r\nThanks again so much. My students were assigned to eat breakfast and when finished, read a book from the classrom library until morning meeting time. I had to set a timer because they all were fascinated with the vibrant colors f the baskets, the labels with the main characters on them and the new cozy mats. My students with a 504 plan for behavior also made use of the fidget box to help them calm down and redirect them when their emothions needed to be regulated. \r\n\r\nMy students were drawn to the coziness of the cozy corner. Even when they weren't regulationg their emotions or reading, many just wanted to sit for a few minutes to just check everything out. Other teachers have walked into my room and were captivated by the cozy corner library. When we do reading partners and scatter around the room, everyone wants to head for the cozy corner. I had to assign spots around the room. As we head into the second half of the school year, I will have to rotate partners and spots so that others will have a chance to read with their partner in the xozy corner. \r\nThis project has an impact on my student's learning because it opens up a safe enviroment that allows them to take risks.
